Yesterday we had return client Mike Lombardi out for an afternoon fluke trip. We had perfect conditions but the bite was very tough. We all put in a solid effort to try and catch some fish but we ended up missing at least twice as many as we caught. We ended the trip with 10 shorts and 2 keepers at 18.5” and a solid 5lber. We will see you again on Saturday for your next trip Mike!

We made it out late yesterday evening to scout some areas for fluke right before sunset. In a short time we caught 15 shorts and 3 keepers at 19”, 21”, 22”. We’ll be back out again this afternoon and have plenty of afternoon dates available!

This morning we had Dan and his wife Alyssa along with surprise guests, our good friends, Forrest and Nicole, out for a 5hr fluke trip in the bay. After sitting out yesterday, the northeast wind still didn’t cooperate today. Conditions were less than favorable and the water was 10 degrees colder than Saturday. We put our time in and worked several areas but were only picking away at small fish. In overtime on the last drift of the trip, we were able to box a solid 21” keeper. Although fishing wasn’t the best, everyone still had a good time.

Saturday 5/23 we had to reschedule our morning trip due to the storms. Later in the afternoon when the weather cleared, Jess and I were able to sneak out for an hour to do some scouting. We only had time to fish 2 different spots but we ended up catching 1 keeper at 18.5” and 20 shorts that were mostly all 17-17.99”. The northeast blow kept us tied up at the dock today, but the fluke are definitely here and we will be back out tomorrow morning targeting them! All of our fish were caught on S&S Bucktails

The governor finally gave us the go ahead to start running charters tomorrow! We will be following all safety guidelines.

Jess and I were able to sneak out for a midday sea bass trip today. In under an hour we had our limit of sea bass plus a ling. We also caught 20 tautog (out of season) that were all safely released.

This time of year gives us plenty of options to fish for a variety of different species. Sea bass fishing just opened and is great right now, trophy striped bass are here, and fluke season opens next Friday. We have some availability for Memorial Day Weekend. Give us a call to get out fishing while taking a break from quarantine to enjoy some fresh salt air!

Outstanding bass fishing with doubles and triples all day! We had Jim and his son James from Moorestown, NJ out for a 6hr striped bass trip. We started the morning off with a double header right away and got James his first ever striped bass! Within the first 30 minutes we had our limit of slot fish in the box. We played catch and release with many more. We made a moved to hunt for bigger fish and were rewarded with a 29” fish after weaving through some more slot fish. We ended the trip with an insane drop and reel jig bite. The father son team did awesome today, catching almost 40 bass. We sent them home with smiles and sore arms! Great job today guys!

This morning I had James, John, and Scott out on a striped bass charter. James won one of our giveaways for a free trip and after cancelling for weather, we were finally able to get him out today. We started where we jigged them a couple days ago but the weather was not in our favor and the fish were scattered. We set up on the troll to look for fish and instantly hooked up with a double header. The guys put a beating on the bass today catching 32, keeping our 5 slot fish up to 27” and releasing the rest. Great job in the cold weather and sloppy seas today guys!

Slow start with a very strong finish in OT yesterday. We had return client Chris along with his nephew Collin, as well as Rob and Rick out for a 6hr striped bass trip. Chris had high expectations after his outstanding trip last week, but what a crazy difference a couple days off made! We started in the same area we’ve been fishing. We had whales putting on a show, bait everywhere, and marked tons of fish that didn’t want to bite. After hours of only managing one 22” fish and not much time left, we picked up and made a move. We caught 3 fish right away, tagging one for a slot fish. In overtime mode, we put the boat on drift and instantly caught 15 bass on jigs, tagging one more for the table. The slow start turned into ending the day with 20 bass. Great job champing out the cold and fishing guys! Sorry we didn’t get more pictures because the ending was a blitz with everyone catching fish!

Saturday 11/30, We ended the last day of November with another outstanding trip. I had Mike, Jay, and Kevin from Forked River, NJ out for a 6hr striped bass trip as well as fishing the 3rd Annual Drumstick Cup Tournament. The forecast was way off and the conditions were very sporty with 4-6’ seas at 5 seconds. We toughed out the weather and made it to where we have had great fishing. The morning started off slow, but after some looking around we boxed our first slot fish. Shortly after, we doubled up on 25lb class fish 38-40”. From there on, we had a steady pick of nice bigger fish in the 34-40” range. We ended the trip with our limit, going 10/13 on bass from 26-40”. We also released fish up to 33”. The body of fish that we found today were much bigger than previous trips with not as many small fish mixed in. We also ended up taking 1st place in the Drumstick Cup with a 40” 25lb fish! Great job today guys!

Wednesday 11/27, And just when we thought the fishing could not get any better, this morning proved us wrong yet again. With a small weather window before the blow, I had Rick from Philadelphia, PA along with his father Rick and brother Alex visiting from Galveston, TX for the holidays out on a striped bass trip. The ocean was flat calm but we knew we didn’t have much time to fish before the weather would change. Within seconds of fishing, we had our first keeper in the box. After that, it was an outstanding bite with double headers almost every time and even a triple header! In just over 2 hours of fishing, the crew went 22/24, keeping our 5 man limit of slot fish and unders to 34” and releasing the rest to fight another day. With a box full of fish we ended the trip early and headed home to beat the weather. Great job today guys, we look forward to fishing with you again!

The epic bite continued for us today! This morning I had Mike, his son Justin, Chris, and Frank out for a 6hr striped bass trip. The bait, whales, and fish were right where we left them yesterday and we had our first bites within minutes. We had a couple double headers as well as a quadruple header today! We ended the day going 16/18 on healthy fish from 24”-36”. We kept our 6 man limit of slot fish and unders from 28-36”, releasing the rest for another day. We will be back out and at it tomorrow morning before the blow!

Another epic bass bite this morning! I had new clients Chris and his 11 yr old son Ryan from Pequannock, NJ along with their friend Bryan out for a 6hr striped bass trip. The first couple of hours started off as we did not mark any bait or fish and were worried about yesterday’s wind messing things up. We made a small move close to where we’ve had good fishing and before we knew it, it was game on with doubles and even a triple! It became very hard to keep the rods in the water. The crew ended up going 14/14 on striped bass from 24”-39”, keeping our 5 man limit of slot fish as well as fish from 28-39”. The rest of the fish were released safely. Everyone caught their first striped bass today too! Great job today guys we look forward to fishing with you again next year!

Saturday 11/23 we had an EPIC bass bite! I had return clients Andrew and his 12 year old son Aidan from Chester, NJ out for a 6hr striped bass charter. We started in the same area as Thursday and had our first 2 fish on the boat within minutes. Not only were they the first 2 fish of the day, but they were Andrew and Aidan’s first ever striped bass! All morning was a steady pick with all of the slot fish and 28”-41” fish that you could want. We ended the trip going 13/13 on bass up to 30lbs. We could have caught many more but the pace slowed down as the day went on since Andrew and Aidan both had very sore arms. Fishing was so good that they kept on insisting each other reel the next fish in because they were both tired and sore. We kept our 4 man limit of unders as well as 3 slot fish that we tagged. We could have tagged our limit, but Aidan is all about conservation and only wanted to keep enough to feed their family. Kids like him are what’s going to keep fish populations going for generations to come!

Thursday 11/21 I had new client Bob, along with his two sons Nick and Matt from Galloway, NJ out for a 6hr striped bass charter. The trip started off very slow, but once we figured out the right recipe to “match the hatch” we ended up going 7 for 8. We ended the trip with 7 fish, 1 being a short, 2 being released for good karma, and 4 being kept for the dinner table. The weather was very sporty in the morning but it laid down and turned out to be a beautiful day with plenty of fish around. Great job today guys, we look forward to fishing with you in the future!

This Friday we fished the 10th Annual Stafford PBA 297 Striped Bass Tournament with Eian and Shane. The striped bass fishing was insane with an epic bite all day long. We had our 4 man limit of unders (28 - under 43”) by the time the sun came up. All morning there were birds, bait, bass, and whales all over the surface. It was all of the bass you wanted ranging from 20” to 20lbs on jigs, plugs, soft plastics, and poppers. After messing around with them for a bit we continued to troll, looking for a big fish for the tournament. We released several other fish up to 20lbs throughout the day but never found that big fish that we were looking for. Although we couldn’t find the big one, we caught tons of bass and it was a bite that most people will never forget. We had a great time and congratulations to all of the winners!

Happy Veterans Day to all of the past and present veterans out there. Today we ran a free trip for veterans in honor of Veterans Day. I had the pleasure of having Scott from Philadelphia on board today for a striped bass trip. Scott is a career military veteran who just recently retired from the Air Force. I expected a fairly large crowd this morning due to the holiday and weather forecast but when we got out there, we were all alone. After getting the rods in the water we had our first fish on within the first 15 seconds. It ended up being a 26” slot fish but it was also Scott’s first ever striped bass. Since I made the mistake of forgetting our bonus tags at the dock, we released the fish and hoped for good karma. We worked the area looking for bait and fish but there was not much life. After 2 hours of looking around, we hooked up with a nice fish. Shortly after, we boated Scott’s second ever striped bass weighing in at 40lbs and taping out at 47” long. There was not a ton of action today but we were able to get Scott on his very first striped bass and at 40lbs it is a fish he will never forget. Thank you very much for your service Scott, we look forward to having you out with us again and hope you enjoy your fish.

This morning was freezing but it didn’t stop return client Jay along with his 7yr old son Justin, nephews TJ and Ryan, and father in law Bob from fishing on a 6hr striped bass charter with us. We left early to try and beat the fleet in hopes of finding fish before the boat traffic scattered them. We had to look around for a couple hours but finally found a couple fish by ourselves away from the fleet. The fish were smaller, but within a half hour of working good marks we had 2 keepers in the box. We worked the area some more but after several boats moved in, the fish scattered and we were not able to get back on them. In the end, it was cold but the weather ended up being beautiful and we were also able to put 7yr old Justin on his first ever striped bass!

This afternoon I had new client Matt from Beach Haven West out for a 5hr striped bass trip. We got a phone call of top water bass blitzing very close to home. When we arrived there were whales and bait everywhere but it seemed like we missed the bite by minutes. We got on the troll to work the massive amounts of bait in the area but only ended up getting 1 bass for the table. Big thanks to Fishhead Greg for the intel.

This past weekend was tough fishing for us. Saturday I had return client Mike Lombardi with his friends Will, Mike, and Noah out for a 6hr striped bass charter. We tried our hardest but only managed one knockdown. Sunday I had new clients Rick and his son Ricky from Philadelphia, PA out for a 6hr striped bass charter. With no luck on the troll we drifted live bait and managed to tag one keeper bass. Monday I had new client Bruce from Chester, NJ out with his friends Steve and Bob for a 6hr bass charter. We worked an area marking tons of bait. We had one solid fish on that came unbuttoned just behind the boat.

10-25-2019

This past weekend I had return client David and his 9yr old son Desi from Manhattan, NY out for an afternoon 6hr striped bass charter. The goal was to try and catch a striped bass as big as Desi, so with reports of a few big fish caught close to home in the morning, we started to work those areas in the afternoon. We marked several fish but were not able to get any of them to bite. We had a couple humpback whales airing out of the water and putting on a show around the boat as well as a sun fish that swam next to us for a while. With no bites on the troll and not much daylight left, we steamed back towards the inlet and put in some OT where Desi was able to connect with a bass on a popper before we had to head in. It was not the big one he was looking for but at least they were able to head home with dinner and smiles on their faces.
