We got a late start this September looking for some residential bass since we’ve been so busy, but we finally made it out last night and were able to find them right away. The smaller bass were hitting some top water poppers and then Jess caught the biggest one deeper on a plug. There were tons of bass to be caught, you just had to try and make it through all of the bluefish in order to get to them. It was non stop action on bass and bluefish all evening!

Although the end of fluke season wasn’t what we were hoping for as it was very rough, we were able to squeeze in a few blowfish trips in between the bad weather and averaged 100 fish per trip with 30-40 larger fish to keep for dinner as well as a bunch of kingfish each trip, keeping the bigger ones. There was tons of action each trip with mixed bags of blowfish, kingfish, sea bass, porgies, and bluefish being caught. Next up are sea bass, striped bass, and tog seasons!

The crew ended the trip catching over 50 fluke with 8 keepers up to 23” as well as 5 nice sea bass to add to the box. Great job today guys, we will see you in the fall!

With the water still churned up and very dirty from the hurricane this past week, we took a shot in the dark and started working a few areas. The crew did awesome jigging up over 40 fluke, catching 3 quality keepers for the box. They each were able to jig up solid keepers at 22”, 23”, and 24” all ranging from 4-5+lbs. It was also Aaron’s first time ever fluke fishing and he did a great job catching the biggest fish of the trip! Today I had new client Mark out with his son Andre along with his friend Alex and his son Oliver who were visiting from Chicago. This was our first ocean fluke trip of the year and the life was very promising! We scouted out several areas and caught fish on every single drift. The full moon tide plus hard southwest wind definitely did not make conditions favorable, but we found fish everywhere. The guys ended the trip catching 20 fluke which were almost all between 17-17.99”. They were able to box 2 keepers at 20” and 18” along with 2 nice sea bass.

Today we took a trip to the mid shore grounds for our annual 4th of July tuna trip. This year we were able to bring Mike and Will out for their first time. We were able to get Will his first tuna! Mike’s tuna fell to a mako before we had a chance to boat it. It was a tough trip as we went 2/6 on yellowfin. The tax man was around and the 4 fish that we lost were from makos getting to them before we could get them to the boat. Great day on the water and everyone went home with some nice steaks!

Saturday morning we had a cancellation and were able to get return client Sammy back from last week along with Hazem and Moh out for our last sea bass trip of the spring season. We had to jump around to a bunch of spots and weave through a ton of small fish, but were able to put a solid catch together. The guys fished hard and ended the trip just 2 fish short of their limit. Also, if you’ve never tried homemade Egyptians cookies, they are a must try!

The fluke were chewing on Sunday! We had Brit and Fred out with their father big Fred for a 5hr fluke trip as an early Father’s Day present. Once again the weather forecast was wrong and the wind was turned on. We worked some areas somewhat protected by the wind and caught 50 fluke! We had to weed through a ton of shorts to find 2 keepers at 18.5” and 21” but it was non stop action the entire trip. Happy Father’s Day Fred!

Saturday afternoon we had new clients Sammy, Ash, Hesh, and Mac all originally from Egypt but now living in Lansdale, PA out for a 5hr sea bass trip. The weatherman was wrong and the ocean never got nicer in the afternoon. It was a tough bite with very tough conditions but the guys fished hard and filled a cooler full of sea bass just a few shy of their limit! It was Mac’s first time in the ocean and with poor conditions he did great contributing to the cooler!

The conditions were tough as the weatherman botched the whole forecast for the day. The crew fished hard with the tough conditions and caught close to 20 fluke with 2 keepers 19” and 21”. Nathan and Ben were new captains in training and ran the boat back to the dock for us. Great job today guys and we look forward to fishing with you in the future!

Yesterday we had our friends and return clients Mike and Jay along with Suzy and Troy out for what was supposed to be a sea bass trip. We had a late start and didn’t leave the dock until after 10 to let the wind calm down a bit. Thanks to a phone call from our good friend Josh, we made a last minute decision to change it up and look for bluefin that were within a couple miles of where we have been wreck fishing. We were the furthest thing from being prepared, but we set out a few rods and had a knockdown within 15 minutes. We circled back around and were able to catch 3 nice bluefin as fast as the guys could reel them in and set the rods back out. We boxed our limit of unders and went on the hunt for an over but the bite shut down quick. It was a very exciting day as everyone was able to get their first tuna, and very close to home as well!

This morning we had new clients Matt, Joe, and Sean from Pemberton, who are also fellow firefighters, out for a 6hr sea bass trip. Our first spot started out great but died fast. The fish were very finicky due to the full moon. They were all full of eggs and spawning. We jumped around a little bit and got them feeding good. They easily boxed their limit along with a nice ling as a bonus. Great job fishing hard today guys and we look forward to striped bass fishing with you in the fall!

Yesterday morning I had Dj, Gabby, their almost 4 year old son Spencer, along with Ryan and Dave out for a 5hr bay fluke trip. To say that fishing was tough would be an understatement. We had a strong tide vs wind all morning. It was Spencer’s first time ever on a boat and we also managed to catch him his first fish! We only had one shot at a keeper but lost it right before it got next to the boat. Spencer also took the wheel and sailed the boat the whole way in to the marina. Happy early birthday Spencer, next time we will work on getting you a keeper!

This morning we had return client (twice in the same week too) Mike Lombardi, along with his friends Will and John, out for a sea bass trip. The trio wasted no time boxing double header keepers as soon as we stopped. They quickly put their limit in the box at our one and only stop of the day. Along with their limit of sea bass, Will caught a jumbo 3lb porgy to add to the box as well as Mike’s nice ling. Great job today guys we look forward to our next trip
